The Maruzza Lefebvre D’Ovidio Foundation is no profit organization, established by Antonio and Eugenia Lefebvre D’Ovidio on the 7th October 1999, after losing their beloved daughter Maruzza to cancer aged just forty years old. Since its beginnings, the Maruzza Foundation, thanks to the valuable contribution of prominent national and international experts, has been engaged in the palliative care and pain management sector realizing many significant initiatives and important projects for patients with incurable illness.
The Maruzza Foundation is an Italian registered charity based in Rome. It is governed by a Board of Trustees, and guided in its activities by a Scientific Committee. Today, the Maruzza Foundation is a key player in the national and international palliative care scenario.
It is also a member of the Italian Donation Institute (IID) an independent organization that, thanks to its operations and annual audits, guarantees that the activities of No Profit Organizations (NPOs) comply with internationally recognized standards and criteria of transparency, credibility and honesty.
In 2013 the Maruzza Foundation received the Gold Medal of Merit from the President of the Republic for its commendable services rendered to the public health sector.
