On the 10th of November 2023, following the emotive and controversial case of the British child Indi Gregory, the Maruzza Lefebvre D’Ovidio Foundation sent an open letter to the Italian government with the aim of drawing attention to the significance of Paediatric Palliative Care. The letter, signed by over a thousand healthcare professionals, was endorsed by the Italian Palliative Care Society (SICP) and the Italian Palliative Care Federation (FCP), which unite, respectively, the professionals and associations operating in this sector.
