The realization of this document, conceived and written by a team of Italian CPC experts to outline the core training curricula of healthcare professionals; doctors, nurses and psychologists, who work with children and families with palliative care needs, was supported by the Italian Society of Palliative Care in collaboration with the Maruzza Foundation.

Architecture and design for the paediatric hospice

The Maruzza Foundation supported the publication of “Architecture and design for the paediatric hospice" by the architect Tiziana Ferrante (Alinea Editions). The manual, which aims to provide a useful instrument for the planning and realization of specialised structures for children with palliative care needs, also includes the contributions of international organizations and experts with extensive experience in paediatric palliative care provision. The text is in both Italian and English.

The Paper Cloak – Comic book heroes for children with incurable illness

This unique publication presents a collection of exclusive illustrations by eminent comic book artists adapted to accompany an original short fantasy story created by the Italian novelist Carlo Lucarelli to represent paediatric palliative care in a way that is accessible to both adults and children.

In addition to the organization of events and training opportunities, the Maruzza Foundation dedicates a part of its activities to the publication of the editorial series "Il sole a Mezzanotte" (published by Erickson of Trento), aimed at promoting an ‘innovative’ medical, psychological and spiritual approach in palliative care.
