With our ‘Time to Breathe’ modules we provide support for parents, usually the primary carers, of children with complex care needs. Currently provided in Liguria and Friuli Venezia Giulia by the Maruzza Regional Associations, this short-term care provision by staff with specialised training (a nurse or ludic educator depending on needs) allows parents to take a few hours break from the intensive day-to-day care routine, to dedicate time to themselves, siblings and/or other family members.

This ‘time to breathe’ positively impacts the wellbeing and mental health of the family; it reduces the risk of burnout and ultimately improves the quality of the long-term care provided to the child patient.

If you would like more information about the service, you can call the Regional Associations in Liguria or Friuli Venezia Giulia or contact us directly.
